As many of you my be aware the Linux Counter website at counter.li.org has been down for quite sometime.

Harald Alvestrand, who runs the Linux Counter website, has posted this announcment at counter.li.org.

The Linux Counter is down

There’s been a hardware error on the Linux Counter machine. It “should be easy to fix”, but it’s taken much longer than it should.
Current estimate is that we’ll be back online before June 25.

My apologies!

Harald Alvestrand

The Linux Counter has beena round for a long time. Let’s hope Harald can get it back up right away. If you know of any other way to assist Harald please post a remark. Thanks.

  2. How many of those Linux users are servers and what percentage would be desktop? Would be great if they could add those two things.

    • Actually this information is there. Have a look at Linux Counter Machine Report. Scroll down to the section titled “Purpose”. As of the time of this posting the counter reported 67.27% were workstation machines with the rest broken down into very specific server types.

      Enjoy!
