Create Your Own Fedora 7 Re-spin or LiveCD

I am very pleased after playing around with Fedora 7 since it’s release. One of the most interesting tools I have run across that is available for Fedora 7 from the default repositories is revisor.

Revisor is a graphical frontend for livecd-tools and pungi. Livecd-tools allows for the creation of a live cd while pungi is responsible for making installable trees, and for creating CD and DVD isos.

This is an exciting tool that brings custom distro creation based on Fedora (and other similar distros) to a wider audience.

From a terminal prompt on a Fedora 7 install simply type:

su -c ‘yum install revisor -y’

Yum will take care of the dependencies.

After that is done you will want to take a look at various documents on livecd-tools, pungi, and revisor to get started creating your own spin and/or live-cd.

I suggest starting with Getting Started with Revisor and the Fedora LiveCD How-To.
